Sailing on the Aguilla

This summer has been extra fun because we have had multiple chances to go sailing with our good friends Jodi and Jason on their boat, the Aguilla. They are such accomidating hosts, too! They keep a special stash of Snickers on board, just for me! Well, for the baby, really.

Other than snacks, what is so nice about going on on this 30 foot Catalina, is that it comes equipped with a grill and a grillmaster... otherwise known as the Gordon's fisherman. On our last trip out we had some fabulous pork chops! Which tasted even better as we ripped the meat from the bone with our bare teeth, due to the lack of silverware. But who really needs silverware, right? Salty sailors certainly don't!

Here is a great shot of Chris taking the helm. See how natural he looks? Or is it the Gordon's Fisherman jacket that gives him the air of authority??

Many thanks to J&J for their hospitality. Looking forward to coming out again for the 4th of July!! Love, Jess

The Nursery...

So many people have asked "what does the nursery look like?" Well, here is the answer. It is pink and green and happy all over. Thanks to the generosity of our parents, family, and friends, we have been able to put together quite a retreat for baby girl Meyers.

As you can see from the first picture, we went with a bed set from Pottery Barn, called Penelope. It has the cutest little birds, accompanied by pink and green polka dot accents. The furniture is all dark cherry wood. And probably for only a few more weeks... the room is spotless and everything is put away!

In the opposite corner of the glider chair is the crib. We've got silky soft pink blankets ready to comfort our little one, a mobile that plays classical tunes, a Baby Bjorn bouncy chair, and the most important comfort item of all... the air conditioning unit! Much nicer than the one in mom and dad's room, this one can be set for a specific temp and comes with a remote! I guess we had better get used to always giving the nicest things to our little girl.

This last photo shows off the super shelf... just filled with baby things! We have stuffed animals that Chris has been buying me for years. There are books, like the entire Harry Potter series. Down below, you can see his and hers diaper bags... a Diaper Dude for Chris and a Fleur "Mothership" for me. We've got the iPod clock all set to go, for when we want to play tunes to settle our crying baby. Thanks again to all the people who bought the canvas organizers for us... as you can see, I really used them!
Love, Jessica
PS: I am 33 weeks prego in this picture... check out my HUGE belly!!!
