Our little pilgrim
Her three godparents are: Sabrina, Shelley, and Pete. May they always love Kensie and be there for her when she needs someone besides her parents for advice or help.
Interesting to note is that the oil they use is really pungent... and very hard to wash out. She smelled like the stuff for 2 days. But, our little angel is christened and safe from evil for now.
Thanks to everyone who gave her special presents to mark the occasion. So young, and already she has enough jewelry to warrant a jewelry box. Good thing Gigi got her one... with a little ballerina inside that twirls when you open the lid! And thanks to both grandmas for hosting the open house. It was a great way to let people spend a little extra time with Kensie Bean and toast the occasion. Cheers!
Christmas
Some of her favorite toys were her stuffed pony, her elmo, and a mini piano. She was also very impressed with the array of fashionable clothes from Gigi. Our daughter is always dressed to impress in the latest Parisian fashions!
In keeping with the Crawford tradition, Kensie wore a funny hat. Her head was too big for it so Mimi had to add a little bit of material to the back.
Here is a pick of our happy family enjoying a white Christmas.

Sick Baby
Well, Kensie finally got sick. Really sick. This video is after I first discovered her fever and gave her some Tylenol. Apparently that stuff works, because she was in a great mood (for a little while). Over the course of the day, her sniffles and coughs got worse. It was hard to feed her. I put her to bed at her normal time, but she woke up about 10pm crying. Even with the inclined mattress, she woke herself up from coughing. When I picked her up I realized how hot she was! Her little face was all pink and her eyes were all gummy with eye boogies! Her temp was 100.4 under her arm, which means her real temp was 1 to 2 degrees higher. I tried to feed her, which didn't go over very well. I gave her Tylenol. Gave her a warm bath. And just walked around with her for a while. When she fell asleep I put her in the bear chair, so she could sleep somewhat upright. The post nasal drip was what was bothering her the most I think. That seemed to be the right thing to do, because she slept until 8am this morning. I woke up at 6am and got ready, so when she did wake up we could go right to the doctor. The doctor checked her out, and verified that she didn't have pink eye or an ear infection, just a nasty cold. Because of her fever and fussiness with eating I couldn't take her to daycare. Today she has been on and off. When she gets super fussy and hot I give her meds and she is happy for a little while. Then it's back to sick baby mode. Hopefully she will be better tomorrow, because I have a lot to do at work before we leave for Michigan!

Arm munching
Yesterday, when Chris had Kensie in his lap at the table in front of his computer, she fell over and knocked her mouth on the edge! Ouch! So, I was being extra careful to hold my arm around her this morning. Needless to say, she found this to be an opportunity to chew something new... my arm. I think we have officially entered the drooling stage.
By the way, I just think it is so cute how she hums and talks to herself now. And I think quite soothing when she's on my bouncing leg...
Quintessential Meyers
In the Meyers household we love tongues. Not sure why, but when we see a tongue, we want to grab it! Thank god Kensie is embracing this odd quirk of ours.
Good morning
This is pretty much how we start each day with Kensie. Not too shabby if you like happy babies.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Last weekend we visited Jon and Carrie in Chicago. United Airlines gave Chris a job offer and they flew us there for free. We got bumped to First Class, which was totally awesome, especially since we brought Kensie. They are so accomidating up there... warmed a cup of water for her bottle, brought us full meals, and doted on Kensie. The extra room also made it much more comfy when holding her the whole trip. Can you believe it... 4 months old and already a 1st class flier!
While we were at J&C's we got to meet their darling son, Charlie. He is 8 months old and totally funny and lovable. Kensie enjoyed tummy time looking at him. And she got to try all new toys and a different play gym. And J&C watched Kensie while Chris and I went to "sell" dinners with the United people. Basically, they are trying to get Chris to accept the job offer by wining and dining us. Which was actually pretty fun!
On the way to Chicago, in the airport at Hartford, Channel 30 news stopped us and asked us our opinion of the new Family late in security. I was on the news! And so was Kensie for a brief moment. Basically I just said that I was happy to have a lane that didn't make me feel like I was holding up regular travellers. It really takes a long time with all her stuff, our laptop, winter coats, etc.
Kensie is starting to be even more interactive than a month ago. She likes to hold things, and chew things, and make loud noises. She sings/talks to herself a lot, too. She will stare at you until you look at her, then break into a huge smile when you look! She also likes toys that squeak, so we try to do that as much as possible. She is ticklish, too, so we like to make her giggle my rubbing her feet and underarms!

Fall fun!
And I would like to point out that Kensie did a great job of holding herself up. I plopped her down and she just sat there. No more squishy sliding over baby photos! They grow up so fast!

Happy Video
Today Kensie was giving it her all to be a happy baby. Which was good, since Chris was about to leave for NY. I'm sure she was doing it so he would know just how much she loves her daddy...
Our little monster
Yes, that is a Christmas tree in the background. I am not even going to try to explain. We are just weird. Deal with it.
Visit with the Meyers clan...
And on Sunday, we all took a trip to the mall in Manchester, which is an outdoor mall. It was sunny and brisk, so Kensie was all bundled up in her stroller, as we went from store to store. We checked out LL Bean, and found the tiniest little baby fleeces and winter hats! They will definitely be added to Kensie's Christmas wish list. All in all it was a great weekend, with Kensie as the center of attention... no surprise there!

Good and bad news
And the bad... Kensie is sick today, so she was awake and kind of cranky most of the day. She went back and forth between very happy and screaming sad.
We tried to distract her from the pain (that we imagine she must be feeling) by putting her in her jumperoo for a bit. She is still too short for the lowest setting so we put some big books under her little feet. She got the hang of it, and enjoyed the Tropical space for about 5 minutes or so. Can't wait for her to get a little bigger so she can really go to town in it, like her friend Noah used to.
Touch the bears...
It's been a few days since I've posted anything, I know. But, by the time I get home from work, Kensie is usually a bottle away from going to bed for the night. It's too bad, too, because she wore a lot of really cute outfits to school this week!
Anyway, we took a number of videos today, because Chris and I got in the mood to make Kensie try out her various toys. And she has been doing some "new" things lately. Like chewing on her hands, and mimicking our faces, and almost rolling over. This video is obviously about touching the bears... on her bouncy seat. For the first time it seems like she is touching them on purpose, not just by accident when she waves her arms around. Pretty cool, huh. Well, we were amused.

Growing girl
Trying to talk
Well, I don't want to jinx it, but Kensie has been sleeping through the night! Starting on Thursday night last week, the day Grandma and Grandpa Crawford came to visit. She goes from about 7 or 8pm to about 6 or 7am. I truly thought this day would be very far away. I mean, who goes from sleeping 5 hours at a time to about 11 hours!?? We think it might have to do with the recent switch to putting her in the crib and the colder temps. But, for whatever reason, we are very happy about the change. In the morning, she is still a happy little girl. I took this video this morning. She was enjoying a ride in the bear chair while looking at the Christmas tree. Yes, a Christmas tree. We figured, why wait? It's cold outside. And we love having the lit tree on when it is dark outside... such a cozy happy atmosphere.

Hangin' with Grandpa
Pumpkin Picking!
Here Kensie is saying, "Oooh!" at the pretty orange pumpkins!
How do you like those little ears on her hood?
